Two Action Packed Day of Feature Artists, Workshops, Youth Slamming and the London Poetry Slam Finals
Thats what the first ever Southwestern Ontario Spoken Word Festival promises to provide. Having been to a number of poetry slams over the past months and knowing the type of moving and beautiful art that comes along with them, I have to say that I am excited for this weekend to arrive.

Friday April 16, 2010 (Evening)
An evening with the 2009 Spoken Word Canada Poets of Honour: Andrea Thompson and C.R. Avery
(no regular slams happening this evening)
Cost: $10 per person or purchase an All-Inclusive Pass for both evenings for $15 – Student Prices (at the door with valid student ID) are $7 each or $12.
Time: Doors @ 7:30pm, Show @ 8pm (pro tip: get there early to get a seat)

Saturday April 17, 2010 (Daytime)
4 Feature Poets, 2 Workshops, 2 Open Mics, and a Youth Slam + Guerilla Poetry
- 11:00-12:00 Performance workshop with Amanda Hiebert
- 12:00-12:30 Opening and Poet #1: Fraser
- 12:30-1:00 Poet #2: Amanda Hiebert
- 1:00-2:00 Open Mic #1 and Concurrent writing workshop with Andrea Thompson
- 2:00-3:30 Youth Slam!
- 3:30-4:00 Live music
- 4:00-4:30 Poet #3: Taqralik Partridge
- 4:30-5:00 Poet #4: White Noise Machine
- 5:00-5:30 Open Mic #2
- -Concurrent: Guerilla Poetry on Dundas

London Poetry Slam Finals
- A “smackdown” between the top 12 poets from the season to determine who will represent London at Spoken Word Canada. (no ‘drop-in’ sign ups this evening)
- Followed by an after party featuring DJ Media Frenzy
Cost: $10 per person or purchase an All-Inclusive Pass for both evenings for $15 – Student Prices (at the door with valid student ID) are $7 each or $12.
