You should check out their Spoken Word festival…after you take time for your art and finish this workshop. I’m just going to get you started, and then you can jump into Laura’s video workshop there.
First thing you need to do is think of an image you saw this week. Take a mental polaroid of that moment, really, really focus on it. Now take 5 minutes to describe it to me in writing. 5 minutes is a long time, but push yourself to keep writing even after you think you’ve described everything. Just keep going deeper. You can use this description later when you want to move from image to metaphor.
