Get ready to feed your mind. January’s feature poet, Titilope, will be leading this month’s workshop.

Lerners room (Beside the London Arts Council office), Central Library, 251 Dundas St.

This free workshop is a “Down to Earth” approach to creative writing and storytelling. It will explore the ways in which the ever changing elements of our emotions are connected to the energies of the world as a whole, and examine the ways we maintain the ideals of authenticity and integrity through the process of creating, writing and performance.

Participants will be engaged in the following ways;

Creating
An exploration of the oneness between the individual and the world as a whole.

* How do we acknowledge and name our emotions?
* What element of ourselves is connected to that emotion?
* How do we view the world through the lens of our personal history?

Writing
An exploration of the use of language in telling our stories.

* How do we tell our truths authentically?
* What creative devices do we use?
* What is our message?

Performance
An exploration of the ways in which we engage the senses.

* Why spoken word?
* Who are we on stage?
* What is our responsibility to ourselves and the audience?
