Feature Poet: PrufRock Shadowrunner

The words of Ottawa based hip hop and spoken word artist, Prufrock, have been reverberating through the minds and lives of many young Ottawa residents for the past couple of years, creating a stir of thought and inspiring others. He has featured in “Words of a Poet”, an annual poetry showcase in Ottawa and his work has been featured on the 2009 & 2010 “Capital Slam Live” CD. His first solo album, “Master of the Flying Guillotine” (released January 2010), is quickly on its way to becoming an underground classic. He was a member of the 2010 Ottawa Capital Slam team, which went on to win the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word championship. He has featured in Saskatoon and has won the SpeakOut Poetry Slam twice (once in Kitchener and once in Toronto). He has performed poetry all over Canada, as well as perfecting his skills on the turntables. Prufrock continues to take his message and his craft seriously and looks forward to the possibilities that the future may bring.

Wondering where your $5 goes? The cover charges go towards venue rental, a prize for the winner ($60), remuneration and travel expenses for our guest features, and if extra funds allow, prizes for the other finalists. The cash also covers our free workshops and incidental costs like photocopies, posters, etc.
