May ‘Anything Goes’ Slam ft Charlie C Petch

Finals is over, it’s time to rest and… wait, no, it’s time to KEEP SLAMMING!

Slams continue every month (even through the summer), and May is our annual Anything Goes aka No Rules slam! Bring costumes/props/instruments with your poems (or cover poems!) and enjoy an extended time limit!

*Performer sign up is at 7:30pm, don’t be late!*

This month our feature poet is Charlie C Petch from Toronto ON!

Charlie C Petch is an award winning playwright, spoken word artist, haiku deathmaster, host and musical saw player. Petch is touring two spoken word theatre pieces, their multimedia piece “Daughter Of Geppetto” and their vaudeville play “Mel Malarkey Gets the Bum’s Rush” which got “Best of 2017” from Electric City Magazine for the radio play accompanying album “Odes & Acts”. They have published books with WordPress and LyricalMyrical and poems with Descant, The Toronto Quarterly, Matrix, Oratorealis and other fine journals and magazines.  Petch is the creative director of “Hot Damn It’s A Queer Slam” a multi-city touring poetry slam series. Slam time: Friday May 18th, 8pm (doors 7)
Slam spot: London Music Club (470 Colborne St)
Slam price: ONLY $5
Slam rules: Sign up call at 7:30pm, team pieces welcome, THIS MONTH ONLY PROPS, COSTUMES, INSTRUMENTS, & COVERS ALLOWED! (but still no nudity or hate speech). Memorization is optional. Time limit extension to 4 minutes.
