The London Poetry Slam is a local community arts event that is supported by local artists, businesses, councils and individuals. Without the community’s full support the London Poetry Slam would not be able to support such spectacular poetrs or to reach the wide audience that it does.
Because of this we’d like to take a moment to recognize some of the key supporters that help The London Poetry Slam succeed month after month.
London Arts Council
The London Arts Council is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and the creative vitality of London by nurturing awareness of, involvement in, and commitment to, excellence of all levels of Arts and Culture – through programs and services that provide informational, educational, consulting and networking opportunities to Londoners, visitors, and the arts community.
The London Arts Council has given a great deal of support and generosity to the London Poetry Slam.

The London Music Club
The London Music Club is a unique facility dedicated to the advancement of live music/arts in London. The London Music Club has been the home of the London Poetry Slam for the past year, in spite of the fact that poets don’t drink enough to pay the bills. Prove Pete wrong by eating, drinking, and being merry while at the slam.
The Palace Theatre
With a 350 seat capacity, the Palace Theatre hosts various drama, arts and educational functions throughout the year and still charms its visitors with its exquisite interior today. The Palace Theatre donates our workshop space, where we hold free poetry slam workshops at 12-2pm on the day after each month’s slam.
Jason Clarke, Sunny Day Jazz Productions
Sunny Day Jazz is London’s leading versatile and innovative production company. Their services are available for a wide variety of projects and clients, including movies, television, commercials, music videos, and wedding films. As filmmakers and entrepreneurs, they strive to become a vital element of the Canadian entertainment industry with the production of innovative and captivating projects.
Jason Clarke of Sunny Day Jazz donated his time to create our Festival teaser trailer and all videos of LPS’s 2010 Finals.
Kevin Van Lierop
Kevin Van Lierop is a born-and-raised Londoner who understands the important role arts and culture play in the City of London and the value they bring to a community.
As part of his Fifty-Two Weeks project Kevin took time to put together this updated London Poetry Slam’s website as he felt he needed to contribute something to this great artistic community.
Kevin operates the MugShot Longe, which isn’t your grandma’s photo booth.
Dave Silverberg
Dave Silverberg is the Toronto Poetry Slam Artistic Director (and Slam Master).We wanted to thank Dave for providing our slam rules, guidance, etc. (check out http://www.torontopoetryslam.com/ for more info on the TPS).
Greg Frankson
Greg Frankson is the Past National Director of Spoken Word Canada (SpoCan) and has provided a great deal of guidance and useful knowledge to the London Poetry Slam.
